Glencoe, CA — 19-year old James Clark of West Point is recovering from minor injuries after falling asleep at the wheel on Highway 26 Saturday.
The CHP says it was just before 1 a.m. when Clark was driving a 1990 Jeep Cherokee and nodded off near Ridge Road. The vehicle began to turn left into a right hand curve. It drove off the road, up and embankment, and back on the road where it collided with a dirt gutter.
The car eventually rolled over onto its left side before coming to a rest.
Clark was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
