A court hearing for 46-year-old Michael Cook was continued Monday until October 14.

Cook is being investigated in the death of 54-year-old Mary Bisbing, who was found dead in her La Grange home August 25, but authorities so far have yet to call him a suspect. He was arrested in Metropolis, Illinois, and was brought back to Tuolumne County last month.

A spokeswoman for the county district attorney’s office says the court hearing is strictly regarding the probation violation and not on murder charges at this time. Cook remains in Tuolumne County jail without bail.
