Only a couple of vegetation fires overnight in the Mother Lode. Crews will be mopping up this morning at”Lover´s Leap” off highway 108, where a 2 acre fire has been contained in steep, rocky terrain. Cause is under investigation.
Firefighters will also be
working to get a 3 acre blaze completely out near the “Diamond XX” subdivision outside Copperopolis. An owl got into a high voltage line at about 1:00 this
morning and ignited that one.
There were several fireworks calls in Tuolumne and Calaveras counties, but none produced a major fire.
