Calaveras County authorities say it appears that Mexican Drug Organizations have abandoned two marijuana plantations.
Nearly 1,000 plants were growing off Hawver Ranch Road and about 3,200 plants growing off Whiskey Slide Road.
Investigators believe the farms were abandoned because they ran out of water to irrigate the plants. No arrests have been made. An investigation is ongoing.
