Some dangerous, icy conditions this morning on Mother Lode roads.

Numerous spinouts and fender benders were reported by CHP and sheriff deputies due to last night´s rain freezing and turning to black ice.

Highway 108 between Soulsbyville Road and the winter closure point and Highway 4 in Calaveras County was the scene on numerous injury traffic accidents, rollovers and fender benders Saturday morning due to adverse road conditions.

Late in the morning, on Longeway and Southfork roads, west of Twain Harte, the CHP says several spin outs, a vehicle over the bank, and another hitting a tree were reported in that short section of roadway there. Caltrans and county road crews were busy trying to get sand into those areas throughout the morning.
