Sonora, CA — There now exists the possibility the Tuolumne County Library could face closure by April, 2007.
As directed by county officials, the Tuolumne County Library has submitted a revised budget calling for a cutback of $317,500. This is in addition to a previously submitted 7.5% budget reduction. The total reduction equals $415,500 or a 34% cutback from the 2006 fiscal year which ends June 30th.
Director of Library Services Connie Corcoran is hopeful that sufficient funds will be raised in order to keep the doors open. Otherwise the library may face closure.
