A jump in gas prices isn´t keeping Americans away from their much-anticipated Labor Day vacations. AAA predicts more than 33 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home this weekend — and most of those trips will be by motor vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol says it will be deploying all of its available officers during the Labor Day weekend. The Maximum Enforcement Period began at 6:01 Friday and extends through midnight Monday. The CHP says officers will be vigorously enforcing all vehicle code violations, including speeding and driving under the influence.
