A 22-year-old Hayward man is set to be arraigned today on charges he killed his cellmate. Authorities say Daniel Beltran is accused of killing James Mitchell during a fight in their jail cell Friday night.

Preliminary autopsy results show Mitchell died of massive head injuries.

Officials say the victim was in custody at the Santa Rita Jail in Dublin for misdemeanor charges. Beltran being held on burglary charges.

Mitchell was found lying on the blood-covered floor of the cell.
