Thousands of police officers and firefighters are gathered in Stockton today to run, shoot and wrestle.

But not against any bad guys, just each other.

The 2004 California Police and Fire Games boasts 60 competitive categories, including firearm marksmanship and martial arts.

There are some less strenuous games as well at the competition.

The most popular event is golf, followed closely by paintball.
