Californians migrated north to Oregon by the thousands last year.

Oregon´s motor vehicle department says more than a third of the 64,000 out-of-state driver´s licenses exchanged for Oregon licenses last year were from California. In all, 23,484 California licenses were surrendered by residents of Oregon´s neighbor to the south.

Washington state accounted for a distant second, with just over nine thousand driver´s licenses exchanged, or about 14% of the total.
