2483 Measure I ballots are addressed, stamped, and ready to go at the Tuolumne County Elections Office.
Elections Clerk Tim Johnston doesn´t like to make guesses about how many voters will send back the ballot, but “historically the turnout has been better than the polling place/precinct kind of election.”
Johnston adds that mail-in ballots often result in a higher voter turnout.
“People can sit at the kitchen table and look over the sample ballot and talk about it and do things of that nature. They don´t have to leave, and it´s easier, and they can do it anytime between now and August 31st,” said Johnston.
The ballot for Measure I will be appearing in the mailboxes of Sonora city residents by this weekend.
