Investigators in San Diego Wednesday removed closet doors from the room of a missing seven-year-old girl.
Police aren´t saying why the doors are important to solving the disappearance of Danielle van Dam.
Authorities say they continue to follow-up on the 500 tips they have received in the case.
Danielle´s father says his family was just like “everyone else,” never dreaming that their daughter would be taken from them. Damon van Dam renewed appeals for volunteers to aid in the search his daughter, last seen February 1st.
Governor Gray Davis issued a statement of support for the van Dam family. Davis says he´s confident law enforcement officials are doing everything they can to bring Danielle home safely.
A candlelight vigil and a community forum are being planned for Thursday to help the community make sense of Danielle´s apparent abduction.
