A Camp Pendleton Marine killed in Iraq was remembered by family and friends in his hometown of Fort Worth, Texas. Corporal Jesus Martin “Marty” Antonio Medellin died when an Iraqi artillery round struck the amphibious assault vehicle he was riding in.

The 21 year old Medellin ad been assigned to the 3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division at Camp Pendleton.

Relatives described Medellin as gentle, quiet, family oriented and active in church.
