The granddaddy of the bowl games is boosting its security. More than 1000 police officers will patrol the Rose Parade on New Year´s Day in Pasadena and will be back two days later to guard against problems at the Rose Bowl national championship game. In addition, the FAA is banning aircraft from flying within three miles of the parade route. Authorities say they haven´t received any threats and that the measures are just a precaution.
