A Washington Union High School teacher and girls´ basketball coach has been arrested on sex charges involving a 16-year-old girl.

The Fresno County Sheriff´s Department says 26-year-old Jason

Ryan Freeman faces various sex-related charges. He was arrested Thursday and was being held on 525-thousand dollars bail.

Sheriff´s spokesman Art Maldonado refused to release details about the alleged victim.

Freeman is the head coach of the girls´ junior varsity basketball team and assistant coach of the girls´ varsity basketball team.

He teaches in the social science department.
