State Assemblyman Dennis Cardoza has launched a committee to explore whether he should run for US
Representative Gary Condit´s seat.

Cardoza is weighing whether to challenge his former boss and fellow Democrat.

The exploratory
committee allows him to pay for polling and other preliminary steps. A Cardoza-funded poll has shown he´d beat Condit in the 18th Congressional District by
more than a 2-to-1 margin.
