A highway patrol officer continues to improve today after an alleged drunk driver rammed into his patrol car during a traffic stop in Solano County.

Investigators say Officer Dirk Lambert suffered moderate injuries yesterday. He was parked on the shoulder of northbound Interstate 680 north of Parrish Road when a motorist slammed into the back of his car.

Officers say Jack Lee Lange of Fairfield was going about 65 miles an hour when he hit Lambert´s patrol car. Lange, his wife and Lambert were taken to North Bay Hospital for treatment. Lange was booked for investigation of drunk driving.
