Bears are showing up in decreasing numbers in the developed areas of Yosemite Park. A study shows an
87 percent drop in incidents this year from last.

A Yosemite Park statement also says it was only necessary to remove bears from the Yosemite valley
three times this year, contrasted with more than 400 last year.

Officials attribute the drop to better handling of food and trash.
