Identical Quads Born In Sacramento
Quadruplets are unusual enough. But to have identical quadruplets, that only happens every one-in-11 million births. Just after midnight on Monday, Sacramento couple Ornsee Khamsa and Verek Muy welcomed four identical quadruplet girls into their family.
Quadruplets only occur every 500 births. But an identical set has only happened a handful of times in recent history.
A multiple births Web site says there have been only 26 sets of identical quads born since 1930, 17 of them female.
The babies are named Preana, Audreana, Natalie and Melody.
The couple plans to marry soon. They also have a four-year-old son.
Specialists will monitor the girls constantly for the first 48 hours. But doctors say they expect the four babies to be fine.
