Tuolumne County Chamber Moves Forward

Last October, the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce named a new leader.

Mike Ayala became the Chief Executive Officer and was Friday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.

Ayala took the place of longtime CEO George Segarini. Ayala is a retired Commander with the CHP, and has been an active volunteer for the Chamber, Kiwanis Club, Tuolumne County Transportation Council and the Belleview Oaks Mutual Water Company.

“The state of business in Tuolumne County is a little rough right now,” says Ayala. “This county has had a tough year with the Rim Fire, the governement shut-down, the drought and until recently, the lack of snow in the Sierra. The Chamber is here to help local business and we have programs, plans and personal face-to-face conversations to help our members stay in business.”

Ayala emphasizes shopping locally and he makes sure that the Chamber backs those words with direct action. 

A few events coming up includes a Town Hall Town Hall Luncheon on March 13th. Water (or the lack thereof) will be discussed. Members and non-members are welcome to attend. Also a “Welcome Home Vietnam Vets” event will be held at Black Oak Casino on March 28th. And a “Grow Your Business Expo” will be held at the Sonora Opera Hall on March 31st.
