ATCAA Food Bank Preparing For Busy Holiday Season

Sponsored by:

Sonora, Ca — Between 1,200 to 1,400 bags of food will be handed out by the ATCAA (Amador-Tuolumne Community Action Agency) Food Bank Friday, so that Tuolumne County residents in need will have a full stomach this Thanksgiving.

According to ATCAA, there has been a 30% increase this year in the amount of families requesting food assistance for Thanksgiving.

Food can be dropped into the red ATCAA barrels that have been placed at grocery stores all across Tuolumne County. Food Bank Director Lee Kimball says that any food that is left over will be given to families in need this Christmas.

Kimball says the organization is also in need of cash donations that would be used to help purchase turkey dinners. Donations can be sent to the ATCAA Food Bank at 427 North Hwy 49, Suite 305, Sonora, Ca.
