Their are several fund raisers planned in the Mother Lode this weekend and many unique annual events as well.

Opening tomorrow night at Sierra Repertory’s Fallon House Theatre in Columbia is the popular play White Christmas. The family friendly show is based on the Paramount Pictures Film and includes the Irving Berlin songs “Blue Skies,” “I Love a Piano,” and “How Deep is the Ocean.”Show times are listed here.

Saturday ATCAA Food Bank and Diestel Turkey Ranch will be holding their first annual Turkey drive to help bring a turkey to those in need this Holiday season. Details are here.

The Tuolumne County Master Gardeners are hosting their last Open Garden Day until February 3rd when they will address fruit tree pruning and soil prep for spring planting. This Saturday is their Family Craft Day in the Garden and it is for children of all ages. Garden projects include Holiday Swags, Mason Jar Snow Globes, Miniature Christmas Trees, Pinecone Bird Feeders and Reindeer, Cornhusk Dolls and more.

Sonora United Methodist Church is hosting its Soup Buffet and Bake Sale this Saturday. Baked goods, gifts, and jewelry from African Team Ministries will be for sale, proceeds provide resources for drip irrigation systems to counteract drought conditions in Africa.

The 7th Annual Sonora High Hall of Fame Dinner will be held on November 4, 2017 at the Sonora Elks Lodge. No host bar at 5:00, with dinner and awards following at 6:00.

On Sunday clocks should move back an hour. Enjoy a pancake breakfast fund raiser for the 7th-10th grade classes at Mother Lode Adventist Junior Academy History And Music Trip to Washington DC. Ticket details are here.

At the Angels Camp Museum on Sunday Donn Marinovich, will share his knowledge about vintage Dodge Brothers Trucks. He has also promised some interesting information on the Dodge Brothers/American La France Chemical Fire Truck once used by the Angels Camp Volunteer Fire Department, now preserved in the Museum’s Carriage House. At the Bret Harte Theatre in Angels Camp on Sunday afternoon enjoy the Fall Concert by the Calaveras Community Band at 3pm. The free and family friendly concert is conducted by Mic Harper as a celebration of the band’s 2017 season. According to Mic Harper, “It has been a joy, as always, and an honor to play at the various venues around Calaveras County. We’re looking forward to performing this concert of uplifting and thoughtful music.
