San Andreas, CA — Officials with the Calaveras County Water District are continuing to urge customers to conserve water in the greater Arnold and Avery areas.
Customer Service Representative Corinne Thornburg says crews have been assessing the situation all weekend using generators to keep equipment online.
She says the situation has been particularly difficult because of downed telephone and power lines.
Thornburg says the massive rainfall stirred up an excessive amount of turbidity in the water feeding the county´s treatment plants making it difficult to replenish the fresh water supplies.
She adds that crews should have a better idea tomorrow morning as to whether further conservation practices are warranted.
