A series of minor earthquakes hit central California today in the area of a deadly December 22nd quake, but there were no reports of damage or injuries.
Preliminary reports from the U.S. Geological Survey show three magnitude 3.5 or higher temblors struck near San Simeon this morning.
All were in the area where a magnitude-6.5 quake killed two people and flattened buildings in Paso Robles last month.
The largest was a magnitude-four-point-two quake that struck at 2:48 a.m. about three miles northeast of San Simeon. A 3.9 quake hit a few minutes earlier about two miles north of the town. A final magnitude-3.6 shaker struck at 2:53 a.m. about five miles northeast of San Simeon.
Authorities say there have been no reports of damage or injuries as a result of the quakes.
