Angels Camp, CA — A dispute over security at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds has led to the cancellation of The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival.
The event has been held at the Fairgrounds for the past five years and the festival organizers have always handled their own security.
For the event scheduled next June, the fairgrounds management said it would provide its own security and charge the festival for the service.
Neither group could come to an agreement so fair officials canceled the contract. Organizers are looking for a new location for the festival.
