Some Sonora residents say they’ve seen smoke to the southwest of the city, but CDF officials say there are no fires burning in this area right now.

Authorities say it´s likely that people are seeing smoke from a 250-acre wildfire in the eastern part of Madera County. Firefighters continue to battle the blaze, which began yesterday. The cause is unknown.
