Tuolumne County Supervisors have given the green light to the County Fire Department to apply for some
federal funding. Assistant County Fire Warden Andy McMurray says the grant, worth about 250 thousand dollars will be used mainly for training of firefighters
and supplies like computer systems.

McMurray says the grant is extremely competitive, with more than 33 thousand fire departments across the
country applying for it.
