The “Woodlot Fire” has now burned nearly 400-acres of the Stanislaus National Forest in Southern Tuolumne County, near Yosemite National Park.
“We´re looking at about 20 percent containment of the fire,” Richard Wisehart with the Forest Service said on Thursday morning. “We´re hoping that in about three days, we´ll have full control of the fire,” he added.
Meanwhile, Park Service Spokeswoman Deb Schweizer says investigators think the fire was caused by a person two days ago.
The nearby Mariposa County town of El Portal is not threatened. No evacuations have been planned.
