Firecrews and aircraft are battling a wildfire in the Highway 49 and Jacksonville Road area along Lake Don Pedro.
Fire officials estimate the fire — which was first reported just after 3 p.m. this afternoon — at about five-to-seven acres in size, burning up from the lake in heavy grass and oak near Mammoth Mine Road.
Firefighters are having difficultly finding access for ground units to this fire. Authorities are now considering using boats on the lake to move firefighters to the area.
Meanwhile. firefighters are now mopping up a small grass fire in the Pine Mountain lake area. That fire broke out around 2 p.m. this afternoon.
