The Area 12 Agency on Aging Board of Directors voted 4-to-1 to approve a plan keeping the Calaveras County Senior Nutrition Program going through the end of the fiscal year.

Under the plan, Sierra Foothill Senior Management and Common Ground Senior Services will supply meals to both group meal sites in Calaveras County and to seniors who are homebound. Calaveras County Board of Supervisors Monday began searching for a revenue source other than the county general fund to pay for a $43,081 deficit in the senior meals program.

The joint powers board is made up of a supervisor from each of the five counties that are served by the agency.
