A would-be car thief wasn’t counting on a Sonora man’s foresight when he tried to nab a parked car
yesterday, apparently for a joy ride.

Sonora police say the car owner had gone into Kragen Auto Parts when the culprit got behind the wheel and tried
to take off. He didn’t even make out of the parking lot. The car was equipped with a fuel pump cut-off and ran out of gas.
