Fire crews are being sent home after containing the largest of four major fires in Northern California. The
67-thousand acre blaze is being mopped up, north of Susanville. Meanwhile, some residents near Emigrant Gap are back home as that 24-hundred-acre blaze
in the Sierra Nevada area winds down.
More than 15-hundred firefighters are battling a blaze about 13 miles east of the town of Likely in Lassen
County. The fire has grown to more than 34-thousand acres and is 70 percent contained. Full containment is expected Wednesday.
A fire in the
Mendocino National Forest has grown to over 14-thousand acres. More than 15-hundred firefighters were battling that fire, which is 65 percent
contained.
