Firefighters have contained a brush fire near Turlock Lake. According to county fire information officer Deb Fish, the blaze burnt about 20 acres in the extreme southwestern corner of the Tuolumne County near the Stanislaus County line between Highway 132 and the lake.

Crews at the scene made good progress getting the fire surrounded. The flames threatened a barn at one point. Containment was reached at 2:25 p.m.
