Mariposa County firefighters are being assisted by crews from CDF and the U-S Forest service, at a grass
and brush fire along the East side of Highway 49.
The blaze has consumed an estimated 150 acres, and is burning away from the Town of Coulterville.
Eight air tankers and seven helicopters remain on the job, supporting 11 crews and 23 engines on the ground.
The fire is about 40% contained, and full
containment is expected by 8:00 p.m. Drivers should be aware of emergency vehicles along Highway 49 about a mile south of Coulterville for the remainder of
the night. An alternate route is recommended.
