Tourism Touted At Visitors Bureau Dinner
Angels Camp, CA — An annual gathering of the Calaveras County Visitors Bureau proves tourism in the county is growing strong.
The annual dinner for the group took place at Camps Restaurant in Greenhorn Creek Wednesday evening and was well attended.
Past president,Steve Kautz of Ironstone Vineyards, talked about the bureau´s accomplishments during his tenure, including getting the Film Commission back up and running.
New president, Mike Kristoff of Greenhorn Creek, says the bureau has set some new goals for the upcoming year. They are to increase tourism awareness, group travel and visibility and to improve customer service.
Also Wednesday, the bureau gave out its first ever Innovation in Tourism Award to Anna Gutierrez of Murphys. Gutierrez introduced the idea of brochure racks and now there are 30 throughout the county.
