Update: TUD Urges Continued Conservation As Main Canal Repairs Continue

Update at 6:30 p.m.: TUD updates that based on progress made to the Tuolumne Main Canal, the final return to service date is now estimated to be March 10.

Original post written by BJ Hansen at 10:14 a.m.: Tuolumne County, CA—While PG&E is aiming to restore water to the Tuolumne Main Canal on March 13, TUD water customers are still urged to continue conservation over the short-term.

TUD reports that they are currently meeting customer demands by using snowmelt, stored water, and groundwater wells. The district reports, “It is important that customers continue to conserve water where possible, report any leaks, and fix customer-side leaks promptly. Water conservation remains key until PG&E is able to restore water delivery to TUD’s system.”
