Fire Destroys Vacaville Apartments

Fire raced through a Vacaville apartment complex this morning, leaving four families without a home on Memorial Day.
Battalion Chief John Jansen said fire crews sent to 445 West Monte Vista found the apartments blazing. The fire was quickly extinguished – but not before it caused major damage.
The American Red Cross assisted two families. Another of the families is away for the weekend and has yet to learn their home is gone.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause – but say there´s no evidence of arson. A damage amount has yet to be determined. One woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
