County Pledging $2-million To Greenley Widening

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors voted in favor of a funding concept with the City of Sonora related to the Greenley Road/Mono Way widening project.

The county is agreeing to spend a maximum of $2-million, or two-thirds, of the overall $3-million needed for the project. The city will cover the remaining $1-million. The money will come from traffic mitigation fees paid by developers. The plan is to have the widening completed around the time that Sonora Regional Medical Center opens its new Cancer Center at the former Andy’s property.

Today, the county approved the funding concept 5-0. The project will include new sidewalks, paving, traffic light improvements and widening the northerly leg to six lanes. The overall project also includes the acquiring of the gas station property at the corner of the intersection.
