Update: Camanche Fire Acreage And Containment Grow
Update at 2:4o p.m.: The Camanche Fire burning in Amador County has grown to 210 acres and the containment increased to 85 percent. The resources remaining on scene include 15 engines, two fire crews, one dozers, and four water tenders.
Update at 8:20 a.m.: Firefighters continue to make progress on the Camanche Fire as all evacuation orders have been lifted. The acreage remains steady at 200 acres and the containment has jumped to 70 percent. The flames have destroyed three outbuildings with another damaged but no homes have been lost.
Original post at 6:21 a.m.: Amador County, CA — Firefighters are getting a handle on the Camanche Fire burning in Amador County south of Ione as the flames forward progress has been stopped, according to Cal Fire.
The acreage is holding at 200 acres with containment up to 40 percent. The flames have destroyed three outbuildings with another damaged but no homes have been lost. Mandatory evacuations remain for residents in China Gulch and a voluntary evacuation advisory continues for those in Buena Vista. Coal Mine Road is closed to traffic. As previously reported, the flames broke out just before 3 p.m. Friday in grassy oak woodland along Camanche Parkway North and Coal Mine Road. Resources on scene were described as 30 engines, eight water tenders, eight fire crews, six dozers, five air tankers and four helicopters.
