Last Wish Was An Aerial Tour Of Calaveras County

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Hospice of Amador and Calaveras helped to give a local woman her wish through its Last Wish Program.

The organization reports that Janet McAnnally, a former TWA flight attendant, who is receiving hospice care, had long dreamed of seeing Calaveras County, and its roads and mountains, from a birds-eye view.

Thanks to the help of pilot Rob Davids, the dream came true. He volunteered his time to fly Janet through the skies and she even had a chance to take the controls, once airborne.

The scenic flight in the Cessna launched from the Calaveras County Airport.

Davids, who has 45 years of flying experience, is currently a Captain with United Airlines of a Boeing 777 and a Pilot Examiner at the Calaveras County Airport.

As the sun set, accompanied by her friend and Rob, Janet returned to the airport and was treated to a stunning view of the super moon, adding to the experience of the day.

Samantha Lukow, Executive Director of Hospice of Amador and Calaveras, shared, “It was an honor to fulfill Janet’s last wish. Our Last Wish Program is dedicated to bringing comfort and joy to patients in their final days. We are immensely grateful to Rob, his wife, and everyone involved in making this experience so special for Janet.”
