New Use For Old Hardware Store
Sonora, CA — The old Andy’s Home Center property at the corner of Mono Way and Greenley Road. will house a temporary computer training center for Sonora Regional Medical Center. The hospital has been picked to be a pilot site for a major systems upgrade. It will streamline outpatient medical records, billing, and case management systems.
The pilot program called Project Intellicare 2.0. Parent company Adventist Health picked SRMC for the program and it is funding the construction of a temporary computer training site at the former hardware store. Hospital Officials say the computer lab and classroom will allow over 300 of their personnel to learn the programs of Project Intellicare 2.0.
Sonora Regional Medical Center President and CEO Jeff Eller says, “We will establish full use of Project Intellicare 2.0 and all other Adventist Health hospitals and clinics will have a chance for representatives to visit Sonora and learn from our process of implementing these new computerized systems.”
Eventually, Sonora Regional Medical Center is planning to turn the former hardware store into an outpatient pavilion. Hospital Officials say the system upgrade should be complete by the summer of 2014.
