Sonora High Bond…Too Close To Call
There are around 5,000 absentee and provisional ballots that still need to be counted in Tuolumne County.
Elections Official Debi Russell-Bautista says the one race that is still too close to call is Measure J, the $23 million Sonora High School bond measure. Because it is a school bond measure, it requires a 55 percent majority to pass. The current count is 55.2%, which is 30 votes over the threshold.
Russell-Bautista says there is little chance that the absentee ballots are enough to change the end result of Measure H, an $8 million bond measure for Summerville High School. 52.2% are in favor and 47.7% are in opposition.
The Elections Office hopes that the final ballots will be certified and counted by the end of the week.
