Silva To Head Superintendent Association

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA– Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools Joe Silva is getting ready for an additional job title next year.

He’ll be serving a year long position as president of the California County Superintendents Educational Services Association (CCSESA).

CCSESA’s mission is to strengthen the service and leadership capabilities of California’s 58 County Superintendents in support of students, schools, districts and communities.

“Our goal right now is the state budget, which is not good,” said Silva. “We’re working very hard with the governor and the education coalition to make sure that when the cuts occur, that education gets their fair share. In the past four years, education which makes up 40% of the budget, actually has received 60% of the cuts. We just want it to be fair to everyone.”

Silva begins his position as president of CCSESA in January and said, “I’m just honored to be selected by my fellow county superintendents and I look forward to a nice new year.”
