Logging Bill May Affect Mother Lode

Washington, DC — A House subcommittee is scheduled to conduct the first public hearing Thursday regarding a bill that could pave the way for more logging in the Mother Lode.
The bill, by Representative Devin Nunes, would streamline several timber projects on the Sequoia and Sierra national forests.
Reports indicate environmentalists say they have concerns for the fate of the Giant Sequoia National Monument.
