Sonora, CA — U.S. Forest Service fire crews are in the mop-up stages of putting out a five acre fire in the Mount Knight area in the Stanislaus National Forest.
Fire crews responded to the blaze about ten miles northeast of Columbia at about 4:30 yesterday afternoon.
The Forest Service says the fire was confined to a five-acre area and was contained over night.
The fire destroyed one house and an outbuilding of unspecified value.
The Forest Service says the blaze appears to have originated in the house.
