Wallace, CA — A 48-year-old Wallace man faces charges of assault with a deadly weapon after an apparent run-in with his neighbor.

Calaveras County Sheriff´s Deputies responded to a home on Creekview Drive shortly after noon Wednesday on a report of a man pointing a gun at his neighbor´s house.

While on the way to the scene, Deputies were advised that the man had fired an air-type gun at the neighbor several times but no one was hit. Police arrived to find that Wayne Pombo had shot the gun again, but were unable to determine who or what he was firing at.

Officers say they had been called to the home the previous evening to investigate the shooting of a dog.

Pombo was booked into Calaveras County Jail after his arrest. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
