Google is trying a new approach to try to boost its already soaring profits.
The online search engine is offering to place adds on specific Web sites instead of just distributing them throughout its marketing network.
In announcing the new program this morning, the Mountain View-based company hopes it will be able to pull in more advertising dollars from advertisers who are aiming for a certain demographic.
The move by Google comes as its business, and the online advertising market is booming.
During the first three months of the year, Google earned more than $369 million a nearly six-fold improvement over the same period a year ago.
