Sacramento, CA — A fire destroyed a 300-foot stretch of an elevated railroad trestle near Sacramento Thursday evening.
The blaze sent a dramatic wall of thick, black smoke thousands of feet into the air and disrupted rail traffic through the state capital. The trestle could be seen buckling under the intense heat before it partially collapsed.
There were no injuries reported. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
