Some farmers in the Oakdale area can expect to see an unfriendly addition to their water bills — The cost for their water is expected to double by this coming growing season
The Stockton Record reports the Oakdale Irrigation District board of directors last month approved changes for how to charge customers in 700 acres served outside its boundaries.
Last year, customers outside the district paid about $40 an acre-foot per season. When the new irrigation season starts in March, outside customers will pay about $80.
They also will be assessed a $100 processing fee for applications to renew service contracts.
