Sonora, CA– Recent weather reports are providing hope to firefighters working hard to contain the Esperanza Fire in Southern California.
Reports say the arson fire has burned about 40,000 acres and is only 25 percent contained. Many Mother Lode firefighters are out of county helping contain the massive blaze.
The fire has already taken the lives of four fire fighters and has placed another in critical condition. Officials say the calmer winds should help crews in the efforts to contain the blaze.
A $500,000 reward is offered to anyone who can provide information that leads to the arrest of the arsonist.
