Columbia, CA — The Columbia woman seriously injured when she was hit by a truck as she walked across Parrots Ferry Road last week has succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities say 61-year-old Leslie Wright was pronounced dead yesterday shortly after six in the morning.
CHP says Wright was accidentally hit by 54-year-old Bobby Carr of Columbia who had pulled onto the roadway after briefly chatting with Wright at the corner of Broadway and Parrots Ferry Road Wednesday morning.
Carr was reportedly unaware that Wright had begun to cross the road in front of his truck as he made a turn onto the road.
Wright was airlifted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto in critical condition.
