Firefighters from Sonora City and Tuolumne County fire departments showed up at the main branch of the Tuolumne County Library Wednesday afternoon to teach children fire safety and show them some of the equipment firefighters use each day.

“The main goal for kids this age is to teach them firefighters are their friends,” said county fire prevention officer Deborah Fish.

Some of the kids even got to feel what it´s like to shoot water from a fire hose.
